These 15 Chocolate Bhutlah chili seeds come from our plants in Berlin, producing extremely hot, earthy, fruity peppers with deep chocolate-brown colour.

Origin & Breeding

The Chocolate Bhutlah is a superhot chili developed in the USA, originally bred by Chad Soleski. It's believed to be a cross between Bhut Jolokia (Ghost Pepper) and 7 Pot Douglah, combining the traits of both into a fierce, dark-skinned pod. The name itself is a fusion of “Bhut” (from Bhut Jolokia) and “Douglah”, reflecting its heritage. The Chocolate Bhutlah is known for its deep, wrinkled pods, extreme heat, and earthy, smoky flavor.

Germination & Growing

  • Start indoors (Nov–Jan) in nursery trays or 5×5×5 cm pots.

  • Use light, well-draining seed-starting soil.

  • Soil temp: 26–30 °C, Air temp: 22–28 °C, Humidity: >60%.

  • Use a humidity dome + heating mat.

  • Provide 12–16 hours of light daily.

  • Add airflow with a fan after germination.

Flavour Profile & Heat
Smoky, earthy, and sharp. One of the hottest peppers, 1,800,000 to 2,000,000 SHU.

Note: These seeds were open-pollinated in proximity to superhot pepper varieties, which may result in slightly smaller pod sizes and variations in heat levels. Flavour and productivity remain excellent, but some variation may occur in plant traits.
