These 15 Big Red Mama chili seeds come from our own plants in Berlin, producing extremely hot, thick-walled and highly productive superhot red pods

Origin & Breeding

The Big Red Mama is a superhot hybrid of Naga Morich and 7 Pot Douglah, created by renowned pepper grower Judy from PepperLover. This variety is known for producing large, deeply wrinkled red pods that are both visually striking and intensely hot. It was selectively bred to combine massive pod size with the ferocity of its parent strains.

    • Germination & Growing

      • Start indoors (Nov–Jan) in nursery trays or 5×5×5 cm pots.

      • Use light, well-draining seed-starting soil.

      • Soil temp: 26–30 °C, Air temp: 22–28 °C, Humidity: >60%.

      • Use a humidity dome + heating mat.

      • Provide 12–16 hours of light daily.

      • Add airflow with a fan after germination.

Flavour Profile & Heat
Big Red Mama has a fruity, slightly floral flavor that quickly gives way to an immediate and unforgiving burn. Scoville ratings range from 1,000,000 to 1,500,000 SHU, with even higher heat possible depending on growing conditions. A favorite among extreme heat lovers.

Note: These seeds were open-pollinated in proximity to superhot pepper varieties, which may result in slightly smaller pod sizes and variations in heat levels. Flavour and productivity remain excellent, but some variation may occur in plant traits.
